Nvidia…Fail

French part will follow…

As you may already know for some of you Nvidia took down they latest drivers. Those were said to kill the cards well fear not the downgrade might not work but… that doesn’t mean your card is dead.

96.75 Alert!
NVIDIA is aware that some customers have reported fan speed issues after installing 196.75 drivers from NVIDIA’s website. These drivers have been removed from NVIDIA’s website due to these customer reports. We have also asked all partners to remove this driver. We recommend that all customers immediately discontinue the use of 196.75 drivers and roll back to their previous driver.

After watching GPU-Z and doing games at the same time i realised the Fans speed would not increase after the downgrade either.

The solution to fix all those graphics glitch appearing on the BFG Geforce GTX285 OCFUBE and GTX295 is simple.

Manually increase the Fan value to a value of 80-85% with the RivaTuner tool.

During the installation RivaTuner may warn you ‘’it has not been tested with the currently display driver’’ just ignore it.

After Install Launch Rivatuner, Under the Tab ‘’main’’ you see driver settings and a box click on the customize corner and select the first option icon ‘’System Settings’’ you then enter a new menu.

Now select the tab ‘’Fan’’ select ‘’auto-control’’ and put ‘’direct control’’ the performance 3D fans speed should display a speed of 40%. Set it up from 75% to 90% then check box ‘’apply fan settings at Windows Startup’’ to true and click ‘’Save’’ then Apply and Ok.

Your box should be louder by now but your games won’t crash well if they do then the card is maybe not the problem in your case. ( Or it might be at a higher level like my previous Dead GTX280 ‘)

French Part

Certain d’entre vous le savent déjà mais nvidia a enlevé de leur site les drivers les plus récents. Ceux-ci avait comme réputation de tuer la carte graphique en empêchant celle-ci d’augmenter la vitesse de sa fan selon l’usage de la carte.

Hé bien après avoir planter carrément et paniquer un peu a voir tout ces jolies carré de la mort dans mon écran j’apprend celà et je décide donc d’installer les 196.21 comme recommandé. Cependant au reboot le même problème surviens malgré l’installation correctement faite des drivers. Après avoir regardé GPU-Z en partant des jeux a la suite du downgrade je réalise que la fan est toujours a 40% et donc je trouves ainsi la solution facile pour règler tout les problèmes avec mes cartes BFG GTX285 OCfube et GTX295…

Augmenter manuellement la vitesse des fans avec Rivatuner dans les alentours de 80-85%.

En résumer après l’installation, sous l’onglet ‘’Main’’ il y a ‘’Driver Settings’’ puis une boite avec dans le coin de celle-ci l’options ‘’customize’’ vous clickez sur celle-ci et sélectionner la première options ‘’System Settings’’ vous rentrez alors dans un nouveau menu, ne toucher a rien sauf l’onglet ‘’Fan’’.

Sélectionner la boite avec ‘’auto-control’’ et changer le pour ‘’direct-control’’ dans le Performance 3D fans speed vous voyez la vitesse a 40% de la fan augmenter la entre 75% et 90% puis clicker sur la boite ‘’apply fan settings at Windows Startup’’ a True et clicker sur ‘’Save’’ et ‘’apply’’ puis ‘’ok’’

Le son de votre ordi devrais être plus bruyant mais vous jeux ne planterons pu graphiquement, si c le cas alors la carte n’est p-e pas en cause ou sinon une corruption graphique dans la mémoire ram de la carte est envisageable ( Arriver avec ma carte GTX 280 morte ).
