Starting EVE

Most people starting to play Eve have no idea what to do until they reach a few months and realise they should have done things separately.

First thing,

When you start a character do not use Trial, ask for a Sponsor. Sponsorship is 21days of free gaming instead of 14 so it leave you more times to decide either or not you will pay for the game. It also grant the sponsor a free 30days if you decide to join and this at no extra charge.

As you choose the race and the character you wonder where, what and who? The character and the class of it have no real impact on the game as you can learn other race skills and be Gallente yet fly Caldari…

When making a character try to balance the points of the said character and picking the path of your choice *Note this is no longuer the case they changed the system for making new characters.

Now that you made your character and chose is avatar and name… first thing to do is the Tutorial. As of Eve is a totally different kind of game the tutorial is important for starters. Do some starting missions then when you have around 100k Open Market window and click search then search for the first book in the list down there. It is important that before reaching the 100,000 Isk you do the tutorial. You may train short skills or wait for the 100k and get a Bonus on your learning skills time.

Here a list of skills you should learn before any other to shorten the time amount required to level up your skills.
  1. Instant Recall – Level 1
  2. Analytical Mind – Level 1
  3. Learning – Level 1
  4. Instant Recall – Level 2
  5. Analytical Mind – Level 2
  6. Learning – Level 2
  7. Instant Recall – Level 3
  8. Analytical Mind – Level 3
  9. Learning – Level 3
  10. Instant Recall – Level 4
  11. Analytical Mind – Level 4
  12. Learning – Level 4
  13. Instant Recall – Level 5
  14. Eidetic Memory – Level 1-2-3-4
  15. Analytical Mind – Level 5
  16. Logic – Level 1-2-3-4
  17. Learning – Level 5
You can either train Eidetic Memory 5 or Logic 5 and get the last skill after.
While all this is been done you should install EVEMON a wonderfull program to keep you warned when a skill queue is about to be done and that you can queue up more.
Also Evemon let you make a plan of skills that you want for the next ship or the next production. ( To see a list of needed tools for EVE and so on click the EVE Tab at top of the page ).
For evemon to work you will need a Api Key from eveonline.com/api this api key doesn’t give Login or Password information so feel free to share it with programs except for the full api key who allow to check your market transactions and corp related assets.
Then according to what your planning to become you may ask questions in here or on eve on channels.
